Don’t miss the 2017 Macomb Kite Festival, a colorful kite-flying spectacular! The Macomb Sky Climbers Kite Club, in partnership with the Macomb Park District, the City of Macomb, “Squeezed to Please,” and The Macomb Area Convention & Visitors Bureau is putting on Macomb’s 3rd annual kite festival September 9 & 10, 2017, in cooperation with the Macomb Balloon Rally.
We especially welcome those who live in communities in the region to come out and make a full day of it for you and your loved ones. Whether from Astoria, Avon, Bushnell, Blandinsville, Colchester, Industry, Table Grove, Sciota, or the entire West Central Illinois Region, there are activities galore that make this event well worth the trip!
Day 1- Saturday, Sept. 9
The Festival kicks off with open fun flying for all to enjoy the fields.
10:00 am – Flying fields open; Kite-Making Booths begin, Official Kick-Off & Salute to Military Families
12:00 pm – Team 180 GO!
11:30am-1:00 p.m. – To help parents out and give kids a treat, our sponsors, “Squeeze To Please,” & Macomb Ayerco stations have teamed up to provide FREE hot dogs & lemon shake-ups for kids 16 & under, from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., while supplies last.
4:30 pm – Open fields
Day 2 – Sunday, Sept. 10
10:00 am – Flying fields open
11:00 am – Duel-line Kite Demonstrations
We are bringing in some very special guests to the festival. These are superstars in the kite world, and we are very grateful they have chosen our festival to enrich the experience for us all.

This crowd favorite puts on an amazing spectacle throughout the festival. Be sure to bring a chair or picnic blanket and your sunscreen so you can stay for awhile and enjoy the show!

About the Event
Our schedule of events ensures we will minimize overlap with the popular Balloon Rally so we do not compete for audiences. We have many activities for all ages, budgets, and activity levels.
We have assistive equipment so that all may participate in kite flying.
